How Inflation Leads To ‘Shrinkflation’

Soaring inflation might be affecting your favorite products in a way you don’t even notice – through ‘shrinkflation’.

What is ‘shrinkflation’?  It’s when companies reduce the size of their products while keeping the price the same.  Since customers are less likely to notice a change in packaging than a change in price, it can be a way to cut costs or boost profits.

Some products that quietly shrank over the last year include Doritos, Wheat Thins, Crest toothpaste, Gatorade, and Bounty paper towels.
