Doja Cat Trashes Her Albums, “Hot Pink” and “Planet Her,” As “Cash Grabs”
Doja Cat spoke out on Tuesday night. Taking to Twitter, Doja criticized her last two albums as money-makers.
“Planet Her and Hot Pink were cash grabs, and y’all fell for it,” Doja tweeted. “Now I can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while y’all weep for mediocre pop.”
“Planet Her” was released in 2021 with features from The Weeknd, SZA, Ariana Grande, Young Thug, Gunna, Eve, and JID. The album reached number two on the Billboard 200, spent 97 weeks on the chart, and is currently at #85.
Hot Pink (2019) hit number nine and charted for 155 weeks. Amala (2018), Doja’s debut album, was not a “cash grab.” Doja also revealed the name of her next album, writing, “It’s not called hEllMoUth either; it’s called “First of All.”
What do you think of Doja saying her most popular albums were “cash grabs?” Do you think her next album will be better than her last two?
