College Basketball Player Surprised with Scholarship While Working at Walmart

A young man working his shift at Walmart got a huge surprise!

Oklahoma State University’s Dee Mitchell has been paying for college by working at Walmart 40 hours a week. That’s on top of playing basketball for the school and doing classwork.

Mitchell’s team surprised him at work with a scholarship that would cover the remainder of his time at Oklahoma State.

“I didn’t know what was going on, it’s real surprising, breathtaking,” said Mitchell. “I thought I was in a movie or something.”

Have you had to work a full-time job on top of going to college? Do you think it should be easier to pay for college?
