Cardi B is being accused of stealing her latest song, “Up.” Two New Jersey rappers say that her song is similar to their song, “Stuck.”
Mir Fontane and Mir Pesos posted side-by-side videos of their song and Cardi’s song, “Up.” The phrase, “If it’s up then it’s stuck,” can be heard in both songs but Cardi is calling foul.
After the New Jersey rappers tweeted about wanting their money, Cardi tweeted, “This is such a popular phrase and sooo many people sh-t sound similar. You mean to tell me I copied like 8 songs? STFU tired of explaining this sh-t,” Cardi posted several videos with the phrase.
Cardi told Zane Lowe for Apple Music her latest single is inspired by Chicago drill music. Cardi is expected to drop her sophomore album later this year.
Do you think Cardi’s song, “Up” is too similar to the song from the New Jersey rappers?
