Auction For JAY-Z’s One-Of-A-Kind Brooklyn Public Library Cards Fetches $126,000

JAY-Z’s Brooklyn Public Library collection is a gift that keeps on giving. An auction of rare artifacts held at the installation’s closing raised over six figures for the organization.

Roc Nation and Christie’s auctioned 14 unique metal library cards, including artwork from JAY-Z’s 13 solo albums.

An autographed Pinel et Pinel black leather case with the cards and a “Book of HOV” bookmark sold for $126,000, but the winner is unknown.

The online single-lot auction was held a day after “The Book of HOV” immersive exhibit closed at the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central branch on JAY-Z’s 54th birthday. The library’s children, justice, and censorship programs will benefit from all sales revenues.
